The Sunday after Easter is known as Domingo de Ángel (Angel Sunday) in Mallorca. This festivity is celebrated at the Bellver Castle in Palma on the following Sunday after Easter every year. It was celebrated through the 15th and 16th centuries with a procession where bread was blessed and given out to the poor. After that the tradition seemed to disappear, only to be revived in 1982 under its present name. However, these days, every year more then 20,000 people gather at the Bellver Castle in a festive and supportive environment to share a typical Easter meal.
