On the 30 March 2018, we had the pleasure to host our first Vernissage at our office in Santa Catalina. The Norwegian artist Susanne Grenness Tronhus exposed several pieces of her suggestive and vivid art and the office was filled with color and mingling people. It was a great night, with a happy international atmosphere, many dear re-encounters, as well as meetings with new people. Our neighbouring restaurant Duke had prepared delicious finger-food, and everyone could enjoy a bite of the delicious Mediterranean taste, vegetarian, vegan or meat, all with the special experimental touch of one of our favourite chefs in town. Susanne’s art has become very popular in Norway, and this was her second art exhibit here on Mallorca. She is experimenting with acrylics and collage in colorful compositions, […]

A visit to Mallorca would have to include a taste of the original sweets, traditional dishes or local produced wine. This past summer you could find an outdoor-exhibition on Paseo de Borne, that later moved to Plaza Progreso, with a tribute to the historic shops of Palma. Some of them unfortunately have […]

Mallorca has around 70 wineries (bodegas) and in recent years many of the grape growers have opened their doors to visitors for tours and tastings. In our culture, wine is present in religion, celebrations and at mealtimes. Wine has sculpted our landscape and our architecture. In the center of the island, at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains, you will find some of the best wineries. Winding roads and tracks will bring you up close to the vines, to the land, to unique sensations, houses, wells, caves and hamlets. An excellent wine route is the Binissalem DO region encompassing the island’s central towns of Santa Maria del Camí, Consell, Binissalem, Sencelles and Santa Eugenia. These are the fourteen wineries participating in the wine route. Bodegas Antonio Nadal Tel: (34) 630 […]

Our Gardener says…

2 February, 2017

Gardening in hot climates requires very different approaches and plants then in the North of Europe. Our gardener Victor shared the wisdom he’s acquired from a lifetime of digging, planting, caring for, and feeding his own garden in Mallorca. Q: The question our clients always ask is what’s the best tree to plant on your terrace in Mallorca? A: This, of course, depends on the size of your terrace. But, in general, you’re likely to get the most enjoyment from trees that naturally stay rather small and don´t loose a lots of leaves. Lemon trees and olive trees, two of the big favorites amongst Northern Europeans, are actually ideal if the terrace gets plenty of direct sunlight. Both of these trees can survive with limited water and lots of sun. Q: […]
